Interesting, intriguing and one to grab! December 18, 2017
Beginning with a ship wreck, the author takes readers into the vastness of Alaska and also into the corruptness of government in a conspiracy thriller. The character, Ben Reed, is a person who I would love to meet. I have read several of this author's books and find all are well written and intriguing. "Alaska be Damned" is an adventure readers are going to enjoy and a story that will stick with you long after the last... Read More

This is an intriguing and informative book. For someone, like me, who is interested in alternative everything, this is a book that I had to have a look at. So many things in our life are put forward just so the people behind the craft can make money while those suffering in pain continue to suffer. The author is NOT... Read More

Great suspense read. November 30, 2017
For me, I l felt like this book could actually be two novels with so much going on. The author keeps everything in order though and writes a great story. Jimmy is a man with an interesting past that includes being a hero in service to the country. Good thing, because Jimmy is going to need all his training when Colleen... Read More

The Patriot Partisans are in trouble. November 17, 2017
I wouldn't exactly call this book a western, although I would say that Curtis Dawson is a cowboy. He would have done well in the old west. Instead, he is a man just trying to make a living doing what he can. Curtis Dawson also has a mysterious past. When Curtis and his partner R.C. get involved with a man named Erskine, their usual job of rounding up illegal immigrants changes and trouble is on the horizon. I didn't read the... Read More

Good story of the old west November 8, 2017
This tale is a western read, but it is more than that, throw in murder, mystery and greed for starters. Henry Boomer is the sheriff. He has his deputies and he also has Wolf-boy Peters who helps out. Wolf finds a man gut shot, only to find it is his uncle Arlis. When Arlis dies he leaves his possessions to Wolf and a bog mystery that is going to take Wolf, the sheriff and his deputies on a great old western hunt for the truth.... Read More

I had forgotten the description of this book, having gotten it some time before I read it, & at first was not sure that I would like it since it starts off with the cowboy dealing with his apparently hippy mother & her flaky boy friend. However, if you hang in there, before long you will be off to the rodeo & things get interesting, although there are some hippy/punk protesters at the gates. There is humor, a lot for the ... Both Boomer and Half-breed were superb stories. Fast paced, something new and surprising around each corner. Not enough about the care of the horses, but I'll hope they take care of their only transportation. Great reads, and there are so many similarities of the hearts of humans then as well as of today, just transportation and technology is different. Just good to know the Lord has got this.

I enjoyed "The Last Fruit Stand on Guam". Mr Hatting has quite an imagination, and the characters are fleshed out enough give the reader a feel for each individual. I like his short sentences, the way the action moves, the plot twists, and the very unique and interesting cast of characters. On a personal note, I've also spent time on Guam so many of the references were meaningful to me.
I've read another of the author's books, "Expat", and really enjoyed it (I could see it being made into an action/mystery movie.)
I'm now reading "Crystal Cowboy" and it too is a fun read. I'm looking forward to getting back to the book at bedtime when, with my iPad glowing in my darkened bedroom, I'll eagerly pick up where I left off. Thanks, Bob!!! Show Less

Very good, realistic dialog December 10, 2014
Very good, realistic dialog, hard to put down. Why doesn't my local library have any of these? He's written 11 novels, according to info at end of the book. Thanks, Mr. Hatting!

Robert Hatting Satisfies...Again. December 3, 2014
In this contemporary novel, set in the world of rodeo, Robert Hatting takes the reader right into the stands and bucking chutes, providing a realistic behind the scenes look at the art of rodeo riding, as well as the politics of the sport.
As usual, Mr. Hatting drives the story along with his portrayals of a cast of colorful and somewhat eccentric characters who, in spite of their quirks, adhere to a code of honor and conduct.... Read More

Exciting times on Guam October 1, 2014
Mature readers and then a exciting romp through Guam with lots of twists and turns to the story. I enjoyed the read and interaction of the characters as the plots unfold. Not for the prudish reader.

Very impotant book for everyone to read. September 12, 2014
An important book for many reasons, not the least of which is the EXTREME IMPORTANCE of the subject to the general public. It is written in simple language which makes it easy to understand and implement

Average western September 6, 2014
I obviously didn't see this as others did. The actual story wasn't bad but the writing style made it hard to follow at times. Flipping from first to third person for several of the characters just didn't flow well for me. There was lots of action, some romance, good descriptions and the characters seemed realistic but it was not an exceptional story.

A Fascinating Book August 24, 2014
What a dynamic writer. I could hardly put the Trilogy down. He makes Panama come alive. There are so many unexpected twists and turns, it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read. I agree with you, Peter Holyk, I will be standing in line for the next sequel that hits Amazon. And it was a special treat to meet Robert Hatting at our local Book Club at Hacienda Los Molinos in Boquete, Panama, last Thursday. He is as... Read More

Great read! Since I live in Western Panama, I felt "right at home" in the books! August 21, 2014
I DEVOURED all three of the books of the series. They struck very close to home since my wife and I recently moved to Western Panama after being visitors for four years! Being a doctor with many years of experience using Ozone for healthcare made that part all he more interesting too!
Meeting Mr. Hatting today was an unexpected and very wonderful bonus! I hope the series will continue again VERY SOON! I'll be... Read More

Romance, Mystery, Adventure and Politics.....all in one package! August 3, 2014
This book starts out with plenty of action and continues to add mystery upon mystery. Add a couple of romances, more mystery and finally some solutions......and even politics! Just being set in Alaska was enough to get me started and I'm glad I purchased this book. The writing was good.....Not like John Grisham good......but it was a very enjoyable read.

Mr Hatting Got me Good With This One July 29, 2014
Some start a review with "It was Unbelievably Great" but for me this book was "Believably Outstanding!" The dialog and activities of the characters was so well done that I bought into them totally. When I read the epilogue I immediately went to Google to find out what happened to the people. I looked up the books said to have been written, and double checked to see if the Alaska separationist movement was going on behind... Read More

What an Eye Opener June 27, 2014
I just read Robert Hatting's Old Tree Ozone. What a lot of research and knowledge he has. It is simply amazing what Ozone Therapy can do and how many people it has cured of various things. It definitely piqued my interest to learn more!

Alaska Be Damned! June 17, 2014
I procrastinated to read this after purchasing but am glad I finally took the time to read it. It was fantastic! There's a lot of history, politics, maritime, suspense, and romance. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mr. Hatting did a great job of describing the landscape while weaving a story. He also spoke for the people of Alaska. Great read!

Cowboys, Indians, prejudice June 7, 2014
This is indeed a page turner, and takes one back to the wild of the west. Every person is not to be lumped into a group, ethnic or otherwise. Not all Indians were "bad" not all cowboys were "good". This is a story of good versus evil and wow what book worth reading again. I appreciate the fact that I had a complimentary copy of this story. THANK you so much for taking me back in time.
